It sounds like your DX2 is just bad. The best remedy would be to return it to FFE for repair. If you don't want to do that I'd suggest opening up the unit and checking all the connections inside, reseating the BIOS chip. If that doesn't work I'd try changing the dram. It that doesn't do it, it'll have to go back to the factory for repair.
