Any way to play *.sms files on a Doulble Pro Fighter?

Is there any way to play (or covert) Sega Master System games (*.sms) on the Double Pro Fighter back up unit? Im using a first generation Genesis so it does have the hardware to play these games if I had the power base converter. But I want to use the games via a 1.44 disk through the DPF. Ay way to convert a .sms file to a .bin , .smd or .md file?
