Just a thought...
Many later SNES games check which type of console they are running on and refuse to work if it's the "wrong" type.
Has anyone tried this:
- Get an unmodified dump of the cart you want to play.
- Use a tool like inSNESt or whatever to crack the protection.
- Compare original with cracked file, and work out which Game Genie code(s) are equivalent.
- Play the game through a Game Genie (and universal adapter if you have not disabled your console's lockout chip).
That would allow e.g. Terranigma to be played without needing to modify the console.
Question: Is there a utility or document decribing the Game Genie code format, so that byte differences can be translated into codes?
