newbie question about SWC DX2, cd rom/harddrive

I have had some sellers of the DX2 but had not buyed their copiers because they didnt have the cdrom/harddrive. Now my question. What kind of parrallel port is mounted in it? can I mount any external IDE harddrive that connects to the PC parralel port.. or do I need the DX2 dual drive unit?!

There still is a market for copiers for SNES and Geneis. If there was a backup unit with an internal IDE Harddrive i would buy it directly.
