Well, first off, my current computer doesn't do tv out or have game ports... Second, it would be completely inconvenient to have it near my tv, on another floor... Third, I wouldn't consider lugging it around to friends houses, etc.. :)

Of course I wouldn't sell my current computer to do it, but why not spend $400 on another one... Just because an idea isn't free, doesn't mean it's completely stupid, as you seem to be making mine sound.
