The mod is the best way to go, I've looked on the web for the details before, but they don't seem very good.

Which version of the Genesis do you have?

I've modded model 1 Genesis/Megadrive units, but I've never done a Model 2/3, so I won't be able to help you.

I've had problems running some games on a Genesis before (even with a mod), but it'll probably be ok.
