yes i got it to work i found how to with a faq on genesis. it is the model 1 genesis. i put a switch between 1-2 for usa-jap and between 3-4 for ntsc-pal. it should be good it works with pal and jap games now. any mods
for sega-cd one faq said there is a mod to play jap games on a usa sega-cd model1 but did not have the info.
