Sounds like the button "daughterboard" might have gone u/s? I suggest you take apart the v64 (validate warranty, be careful, antistatic etc yada yada), make sure all the contacts are clean + cables are seated well. Failing that, you will prolly need to get hold of a new one. I'm not sure if spares are still available?
