Designing a VB Cart... Please read

I am a big Virtual Boy fan. I recently began programming it but I really want to test my code on the real hardware. There is a rewritable cart schematic, but it requires an EPROM and all that messy equipment that goes along with it. How hard would it be to make an card programmable from a PC parallel port using flash rom or SRAM? Here are some schematics of VB carts.
