I found 2 carts that used sram in the ones i looked through, both from 1993, both EA sports games. They were NHL94 and Madden NFL94. EA did their own work back then, the pcb's and ROM chips are both labeled EA. Both games use a 74ls138 demuxer, the outputs of which controls the /CE for both the SRAM and the ROM (as far as I can tell anyway). It's an 8bit demux which seems impractical, but it's made by Goldstar and the SRAM is also a Goldstar part, so they likely got a package deal on it... the part # for the sram chip is GM76C88ALK-15. There's a fourth chip in addition to the ROM, SRAM, and demux, which seems to control the CR2032 battery's supply to the SRAM. Hope this info helps - did sonic3 have a demux also?

John
