Price being equal I'd recommend the DX2. It supports the SMC ROM format which is the standard these days. It has much better cheat mode support and it's less finicky about what type of parallel port it needs on your PC to work. It supports add on ZIP drives (older models only) and CD-ROM and hard disk with the Disk Dual.

The PSF2 has the capability to upgrade the memory with add on memory modules but you'll probably never be able to find any. It also has one feature no other backup unit has that I know of which is the ability to run from the cart in real-time save mode, probably only important to someone like me.
