Yep, I've modified my SNES just to play Terranigma. I haven't experenced any problems playing it and it hasn't seemed to damage my cart in any way(although I'm so lazy I've on played it a couple of hours).

The only side effect of the mod I've experenced is a few chipped games (kirby superstar, etc) don't work anymore, but this is a result of disabling the lockout chip. Simply wiring a second switch reconnecting the lockout chip should solve this problem.
