I honlestly don't believe all the hype about the new DX2's being shit. I have one that i got in Mid-February of this year, which was about 4 1/2 months ago, and i have not had any problems running either SD3 or Chrono Trigger or ANY game for that matter. If your rom is in an unsupported format or has a fucked up header, maybe that could cause the problem? So, in my own opinion i would go for it and buy the DX2 from FFE... and if it gives you trouble just tell them it is defective and send it back to them.
