Well... it's Yamenoko (who doesn't actually have one most likely) and two other board users who claim that... but I'm pretty sure it's more lack of knowledge on the user side than fucked units, 'cause FFE produces those units (DX2) for five years now and I can't imagine that they've changed anything in the last two months.
