Anyone know how to get Action Replay Codes working on the UFO 8+?

Anyone know how to get Action Replay Codes working on the UFO 8+? I have a game Lufia 2 that i wish to input "81F99F8F" but it doesnt seem to work. It works on emulators but not on the UFO 8+ im not sure if im doin it right on the UFO8+. I load the game into the DRAM then i enter the code in and then i play the game in DRAM. Everytime i do that i get a stutter in the game and the code i enter doesnt work. Can anyone help me with this
