Parallel port speeds, not blazingly fast but much faster than floppy and you don't have to deal with thousands of floppies.

Standard yes, printer cable no. It comes with a 3ft cable. It's the same style cable that connects the DX2 to the PC, 25 pin straight thru.

It uses FAT16 but the DX2 doesn't fill in all the FAT16 information like dates on the files. They ship it with a driver disk so it shows up as a disk drive in windows.
