Thanks so much for replying, but I know what's wrong now!

You see, I didn't get a manual with my unit, so I figured I would have to go into "memory mode" every time I wanted to play and save a game. I don't! Mem mode is only for saving anywhere, and also slow motion effects. I can play them in normal mode just fine, and found out the hard way that I can save just fine in that mode, too!!!

So, therefore, I am an idiot, and never had a problem at all. Thanks so much for actually trying to help me. :)
