Double Pro Fighter Question: I have the parralel port adaptor. Now can I connect an external CD-ROM drive to it or does that require another adaptor?

I was told that the Double Pro Fighter has the option of loading games via CD-ROM with a special cartridge adaptor. Now I have the special cartridge that plugs into the SNES cart slot of the Double Pro Fighter that allows me to load games via PC parralel port. Can this same adaptor be used with an external CD-ROM drive ? If so, what kind of external CD-ROM drive do I need? If not, what adaptor do I need for the Double Pro Fighter to load games off of external CD-ROM drive?
