SWC DX2 - Anyone got the cheat function to work?

I've tried to use the cheat/password function repeatedly, on a number of different games. I've used all the formats that the system is supposed to understand; gold finger, PAR, game genie.... I can't get any of them to take effect.. The instructions don't make any sense; I just don't know how to use it.

Is there a faq on this anywhere? If you've gotten it to work, or know where I can find REAL info on how to use it, PLEASE email me...
