The CD-7 CD-ROM drive (the external CD-ROM drive made spacifically for the Professor SF 3/6/7 backup unit)is pretty much impossible these days (I have a better chance winning the lottery).

I want to know, is there any way i can use a plain old parralel port CD-ROM drive, or do I have to get a CD-7 drive? Does the CD-7 drive have a special IDE to Parralel converter in it or something (if so what type is it)?

I have seen this kind of question asked about the Disk Dual (the CD-ROM/hard drive case used for the SWC DX2) and the Disk Dual uses a certain IDE to Parralel converter, so it's quite possible that the same applies to the CD-7.

Thanx
