Can anyone help, my JAP N64 gives B+W only!?

I got a JAP N64 with my V64 and it only gives black and white, I think it had been modded - about 8 wires had been cut off, I took these off as they were not doing anything. They were on one side of small components on the board, could these have been damaged from heat from the soldering iron?

Any ideas?
