Pocket Linker Won't Work

I have a Poket Linker and 2 32m Flash Cards. I have a new Db25 cable that links my Pocket Linker to my Computer. I have 6 new AAA batteries in the Pocket Linker. When I plug the Pocket Linker to my computer using the cable, the red light in the Linker becomes dimly lit. When I turn on the Pocket Linker the light becomes Bright. I am using the program that came with it but it doesn't seem to read that it is plugged in and that it is on (the red, blinking icon won't turn green and allow me to write on the card). If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, please tell me.
