Are you using the right cable? Make sure you are using a Switchbox Cable. 25 conductor, Straight-Through.

It is NOT the same type of cable you would use to connect two PC's together.

The one I use is a Belkin Pro Series DB25 Male to DB25 Male Serial/Parallel cable. Part # F3D111-06.
