> 1. Where are some good places to get one?
Try Front Fareast (The manufacturers in Taiwan) - http://www.front.com.tw/english/E-home.htm
or
GameAxe (Run by SWP in the US who set up this site and board) www.gameaxe.com
You can order using credit card from both. Note that when you email FFE always use CAPITAL LETTERS 'cos they don't seem to reply to anything else.
Delivery times are variable, but FFE should be a couple of weeks. The last batch from Gameaxe took quite a while to be sent out, because of some problems outside of SWP's control. Both companies are (in my experience) reliable.
> 2. Does it work on a US Super Nes and US Super Nes games without any type of converter?
If you order the NTSC version you should have no problems.
> 3. Do I need the 64 one? If I have the 64 one can I store more that one game in memory or does that just allow 64Mbit games
You can only store one game in memory on the current version of SWCDX2.
There are only 2 games that I know of that use more than 32mb, but it's only $20 more, so most people would recommend going for that one.
> 4. If takin care of are they pretty trustworthy? (Not prone to sudden death)
They seem a nice solid unit, well made and with lots of connection options (DiskDual, PC, ZIP Drive etc.). I've not heard of anyone having problems with reliability, although I don't know how long the battery backed RAM will last.
> 5. Do roms have to be converted to use on them from the smc format?
It seems to be able to handle SMC, SWC and FIG files. I've not tried the rather esoteric GameDoctor format.
