It'd require a switch if his SNES was a NTSC one, but since SMRPG only is available as PAL Version anyways it's enought to cut Pin 4 of the lockout chip. There's a document floating around which describes the lockout chip procedure much more detailed as the GamesX site does (infact, they mention it, but their link to Mark K.'s site is dead), it's available here.
