There are dram and sram adaptors available for both systems. The tg16 and sega genesis adaptors utilize the same type of memory card in both cases. I have only seen the sram tg16 adaptor. I've never come across the dram i/o for that particular machine. A typical sram setup would include a mgd2 main unit (which sends the rom to the memory card), an sram memory card (available in 1, 2, 4, and 8 megs) and an sram i/o. The memory card plugs into the mgd2 main unit so that you can put the rom on it. You then plug the memory card into the i/o you want to use and plug it into the game system like you would a cartridge. The dram i/o also fits into the cartridge slot of the game system. You need a transfer cable to send the game from the main unit to the memory card, since the memory card relies on the power from the game system to retain the rom. So a typical dram setup would include the mgd2 main unit, a dram transfer cable, a memory card, and a system adaptor. Sound confusing? It is a little confusing. Go to http://www.geocities.com/multigamedoctor/mgd2.html if you would like more info about the components available for the mgd2. You will find pics there that illustrate what I've talked about. If you have any ?'s, email me.
